Tackling disadvantage in schools to support vulnerable kids

Adobe, Swinburne University & Victorian Government

Many disadvantaged and vulnerable children struggle within the traditional education system, often without the support structures needed to thrive. This initiative set out to address the problem holistically, focusing not just on students, but on equipping teachers with the tools, confidence, and capability to better support children who struggle most.

We formed a first of its kind partnership between industry, academia, and government, working directly within public schools to research, prototype, and test new approaches that could scale.

Outcomes

  • Created Australia's first collaboration between Adobe, Swinburne University, and the Victorian Government
  • Led user research across the public school system with teachers and education leaders
  • Developed and tested new program models and business strategies with educators
  • Delivered a validated business case and social impact measurement framework
  • Launched a digital pilot across three schools to support vulnerable children
