Putting children into care is often confusing, stressful, and expensive for families, while childcare centres struggle to balance compliance with meeting the diverse needs of parents. The Australian Government needed a digital platform that could simplify this experience for families while improving efficiency, transparency, and compliance across the system.

Working across five government departments, we designed and delivered a national platform through Discovery, Alpha, Beta, and launch — grounded in extensive research with families and childcare providers.

Outcomes

• Conducted 1:1 interviews and observations with 300+ families and childcare centres
• Designed key service touchpoints and technology requirements
• Delivered the first digital prototype ever presented live to Australian Federal Cabinet
• Achieved 97% user satisfaction
• Secured $30m+ in funding for national rollout
