Designing patient first clinical trials through a patient app

Global pharmaceutical company

We partnered with Chiesi to develop a patient-centric mobile application that transforms the clinical trial experience. The app enables patients to easily track symptoms, medication adherence, and quality of life metrics while participating in respiratory disease research.

Through intuitive design and thoughtful user experience, we created a platform that reduces the burden on patients while improving data quality for researchers. The app features personalised reminders, educational content, and direct communication channels with clinical trial coordinators — ensuring the solution met the needs of diverse patient populations, including those with limited digital literacy or accessibility requirements.

Outcomes

  • Improved medication and data collection adherence rates to 85%
  • Reduced time burden on clinical trial participants by 40%
  • Increased complete and accurate patient-reported data to 95%
  • Designed accessible interfaces for patients with limited digital literacy
  • Integrated direct communication channels between patients and trial coordinators
  • Deployed across multiple respiratory disease clinical trial programmes
